Is he an Aussie, is he Lizzy
Is he an Aussie, is he eh?
Is it because he is an Aussie
That he makes you dizzy, Lizzy.
Is it because his ways are jazzy
   That he makes you fuzzy=wuzzy?
Got you dizzy, aint he Lizzy?
Is he an Aussie, is he eh?

 wav  Me too!

I try to post if I ever find new freebies, but it doesn't happen too often, some of you are soooooo quick on the ball!!!  (And thank you!)  heart

Maybe a way to encourage members to find and post freebies could include showing us some tips about how to find them on the internet?

Also, maybe we could start encouraging members to post a photo of each freebie in the related thread when they arrive?  I know there's the 'What arrived in the Post Box today' thread, and I wouldn't like it to deflect from that, but I think it would help liven up the boards a little.  Just one photo per thread, don't need for everybody to post the same photo, lol!  laughing This might encourage a little bit more chatter in those threads.

I can see problems with posting photos, well at least for me.
Sometimes I have trouble lately even finding time to post what I've received as well as participating in other posts.
We're really busy doing renovations and stuff in the garden etc.
Also I'd have to have something that could take an ok  pic and learn how to use it         And that would take time and money I just can't spare right now.

Summer is just a terribly busy time for me and with three old houses and gardens all needing work there often isn't enough time for much at the moment.
What I do is prop my eyes open with toothpicks and do what I can to participate  laughing

For me its enough to have a short description of the product, ie like Le Tan sunscreen 35ml.
If anyone wants to post pics that would be great but I don't think it should be compulsory otherwise I feel some members who do post would actually stop posting.   I know I would have to stop if was "expected" to post a pic of each freebie.  Its just time etc that I don't have.
And how much space on the board would there be if everyone posted a pic of every freebie they received, also wouldn't the pics possibly slow things down for people on slower internet.

I agree Sonya - posting pics can be optional.  It is nice to hear what other people get though, even if its just a 3 word description.

Maxie - some nice ideas.  I normally look for freebies a) on my facebook wall - alot of companies that I have 'liked' post messages when they have comps or giveaways so its quite easy to find them, b) I occassionally do searches on google with words like - free stuff, freebies, aussie etc, c) I sometimes get emails about samples which I share with the group, d) I occassionally look at other freebie boards and see if there is anything on there that we don't have.

Must say though, many thanks to everyone who has been posting goodies on the Aussie board.  I'm loving checking my postbox everyday to see what has arrived.

I'm here too! These days I only really have enough time to go in the Freebies and Postie sections, so I don't really join in the general chat on other sections any more. I don't have time to go and find new freebies, but if I come across something (usually targeted campaigns on facebook or newsletter e-mail), then I'll try and post it here; if it hasn't already been quickly posted!

If posting photos was compulsory, I definitely wouldn't have the time. First I would have to arrange the goodies, get my phone/camera, connect it to my cable, upload the pic to my computer and then finally upload to here. I know most modern phones can upload to the net directly, but I'm cheap Hey, I am a TT member, haha!

Lurkers will be an issue with every forum. It's hard to get around. You could add viewing privileges based on number of posts and/or active membership (based on posts), but that will reduce the membership and site views, which in turn will effect ad revenue for the owners of TT as well as even member contributions.
