i sold a dvd on ebay which was brand new in the packet. i brought it from kmart so it was region 4 (australia/nz). when i sell dvds, i make sure that the dvd is not rattling around in the box before i pack it

so anyway, i sell this dvd and then i get a nasty email from the buyer saying that:

it doesnt play on her dvd player because its region1 (kmart doesnt sell region 1!). i informed the buyer of this and then i asked her the make and model number of her dvd player so i could find her an unlock code so she can play all regions. she told me i was a smartass and its impossible to unlock dvd players (i unlocked mine with a code off the net)

she said that the dvd was not secured and that it was rattling around in the case and was full of scratches. she refused to provide a photo of it

she said it was not packed securely. i wrapped it in bubblewrap and then put it in a snap lock bag and then into a padded satchel

she said that it was not a brand new dvd. it was wrapped in shrink wrap and had the store sticker on it!

i asked her for pictures of the damage but she wouldnt provide them. she also wouldnt tell me her dvd player for the unlock code. she told me if i didnt give her a full refund she would leave me a neg. i said if she showed me pictures of the damage then i would be more than happy to refund her the purchase price and the postage cost as well as provide enough money for her to send me back the dvd. as she wouldnt provide proof, i wouldnt give her a refund. i had 100% positive feedback but she left me an unfair negative and so there goes my perfect record. ive been using that account for almost 3 years now and everyone comments on how great my postage rates are, how quick i post, how my communication is great and how well my items are described.

i feel really irritated that this happened. ebay will only let me leave her a positive comment, it wont let me leave her the negative that she deserves. hell, the crap i put up with from her, i should be allowed to leave her TEN negatives! its very unfair for sellers

that happened about a month ago and ive not listed anything since then because i was discouraged but last nite i decided i wasnt letting one idiot get me down and i listed more stuff. they let me list 15 items a month for free so i will wait till next month for the rest

sorry everyone, i had to get it off my chest lol

Contact Ebay and tell them what you told us.  They may be able to remove the negative.
Surely the photo you put on ebay showed that it was new and packaged?

Don't let them get you done - just post them the following feedback (as a positive):
TIME WASTER, SCAMMER, WATCH YOUR FEEDBACK WITH THIS IGNORANT OLD BINT!

then sit back and  laughing

agree with Anna - i rarely sell on ebay now either - perfer amazon as its so much easier - and since ebay removed the seller being unable to leave negative it became a nightmare

Oh dear! Hope your postive feedback outweighs the negative in a potential customers mind.

That really is unfair.
She sounds like a scammer. So, if you can't leave her neg. feedback how will other sellers know she's a scammer ?
I'd go with Anna's idea.
Definitely ask ebay about it though - although I have a feeling they won't care too much.
Make sure you leave a reply under the person's neg feedback about the real story.

haha anna. ebay wont remove the feedback unfortunately. i have saved her to my favourite sellers and the minute she lists an item on ebay, i will be there with bells on to purchase it. when it arrives i will be leaving her negative feedback for all 10 items that i plan to buy and i will be laughing like a maniac when i do it  laughing

ange i left a reply and then she was able to reply again. she accused me of being abusive and said she can provide my future bidders with copies of all the "abuse" i directed to her. unfortunately i dont get to reply again. my feedback looks terrible because its showing 1 neg in the last month, 1 in the last 3 months and one in the last 12 months even thoughi only have one all up. it looks shocking

thanks everyone for listening to my whinge. i felt heaps better once i got it out of my system  heart

I have had trouble with ebay too, it gets too stressful and not worth it.

You dont have to pay for return postage thats the buyers problem if they want a refund

if there was a genuine problem with the item, i would always pay for them to return it to me, its only fair. i wouldnt like it if someone sent me a defective item and i had to pay 2 lots of postage

ive got stuff listed again but they aint doing too well
