I don't know if this is the appropriate place but I thought it would be interesting to have a place that is not specific to any of the research companies where we could post frustrations with survey questionairres. Things like the stupiedest question asked, most boring survey, not allowing options that apply to you etc. Please feel free to delete if you don't think this is interesting or this is not the appropriate place.

I think it's a good post My biggest frustration with surveys is those who don't give you the option of not disclosing income . If I come across that issue, I simply finish the survey there and then. I also hate repetitive and long surveys. I mean, how many times do you need to answer the same question ....

I hate the ones that force you to attach emotions to products and institutions. They really annoy me. They are really silly. I don't have a mobile phone or credit card. Many surveys don't give you the option to say you don't have one. Others allow you to say you don't have one and then proceed to ask you questions as if you have. I also think it is silly in a lot of cases to disqualify you if you don't use a particular service or product. If I were a company I would want to know why people don't buy the product or use the service. Surely by getting this sort of information they could improve their marketing strategy and try to gain more customers.

I don't like the ones that ask details of what bank you use and how much money you have in them. I don't do those ones. Also more and more ask for your complete date of birth. I think an age range should be enough. I'd hate for our personal information to end up in the wrong hands if the sites got hacked or something.

The ones I like the best are the ones where you get products to trial. Not only do you get points for the qualifying survey but you also get points for the evaluation survey and of course you get a free sample to trial. Last year I got: 2 different cereals chewing gum snack pack ( biscuits and dip) Liquid stock facial tissues Toillet paper (6 rollls) Hoping for lots more this year.

I hate the ones that give you a product to trial and when you try to upload a photo it doesn't work size is too big, which means you miss out on scoring a voucher for feedback.Grr!

I've never had to upload a photo. They just send me the product to try.

Urgh, me too. I just got one now and I could tell it was one of those financial products/bank surveys because it's usually always offered by the same survey brand/provider. Too many boxes, the higher likelihood the survey responses are going to be less authentic. Let's see how long I last before I give up One thing that should be on every survey is an accurate progress bar. Especially if it's one of those long surveys with 100s of tick boxes, it's good to know I'm nearly at the end. I enjoy product trial surveys too. However, once I got a (very good) full size toothpaste and I had to do a phone follow-up survey which lasted for 1/2 hour and I never was credited for it. Last year in product trials, iirc, I received chewing gum, chocolate, yoghurt, pasta sauce, tea, ice cream, wisps, toothpaste, pads, etc.

The other thing that really pisses me off is when for some inexplicable reason, the survey won't let you finish I had one today that the next button just would not work and I ended up just closing it
